Free-Standing Clinics

APRN® provides comprehensive outpatient physical and occupational therapy programs at our free-standing clinics, located in multiple states. Pictured (to the left) is a glimpse of our state-of-the-art 13,500 square foot, Balance and Mobility Therapy located in Toledo, OH.

Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy incorporates the skilled services of restoring function, improving mobility, relieving pain, and preventing or limiting permanent physical disabilities. Physical therapists and physical therapy assistants work with individuals of many age ranges and varying diagnoses to restore, maintain, and promote overall health. APRN® has been providing physical therapy services since the company started in 1959. We continue to recruit and retain some of the most talented physical therapists and physical therapist assistants in the areas we serve.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy incorporates the skilled treatments of helping individuals achieve their highest level of function or independence in all aspects of their lives following an injury, disease, or disability. Occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants work with people to develop the "skills for the job of living" necessary for independent and satisfying lives. Many of our occupational therapists specialize in the evaluation and treatment of upper extremity disorders, including some who have achieved the advanced designation of Certified Hand Therapist (CHT).

Aquatic Therapy

Aquatic Therapy is the practice of physical rehabilitation by a trained and licensed physical or occupational therapist or physical therapy or occupational therapist assistant within the environment of a water-filled pool. The buoyancy, support and resistance of water enhance exercise and create a safe environment for progressive rehabilitation. The temperature of water (warm or cold) prompts muscle relaxation, facilitates stretching and generally reduces the sensation of pain. Treatment sessions are designed to: improve circulation, strength and endurance, balance and coordination; increase range of motion; decrease tissue swelling; normalize muscle tone; protect joints during exercise, and reduce stress.

Typical problems and conditions that can be treated effectively through aquatic physical rehabilitation techniques are injuries to the neck, shoulder, low back, knee and ankle; chronic pain; arthritis; fibromyalgia; neurological disorders, and conditions limiting the body's ability to bear weight. Several of our APRN® outpatient clinics provide exceptional aquatic therapy facilities and programs.

Contracted Therapy

APRN® provides therapy to hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, and schools on a contracted basis. This agreement benefits those institutions and organizations that need to provide skilled physical rehabilitation, but often have difficulty in finding and maintaining quality therapy staffing.

Speech Therapy

Speech Therapy is the skilled service involving the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of speech, voice, and language disorders. Our speech therapists work with people unable to make speech sounds or who cannot make them clearly. In addition, our speech therapists evaluate and work with individuals who have difficulty swallowing effectively.

Industrial Rehab

APRN's® Industrial Rehab programs are designed to work with industries in the local areas in order to provide physical rehabilitation for injured workers. We work with case managers and employers to ensure workers can get back on the job quickly and in a safe manner. In addition, we provide preventative health components to ensure workers avoid work-related injuries associated with the neck, back, and upper extremities. On-site industrial rehab, ergonomic consultations, work re-conditioning, and functional capacity evaluations (FCE) are all part of our comprehensive Industrial Rehab programs.

Sports Rehab & Athletic Training

Sports Rehab involves our licensed physical therapy staff working with the athlete who has sustained an injury on the court or field. In combination, our athletic trainers work with area sports teams and coaches to prevent injuries through strengthening, conditioning and stretching education. The Sports Rehab team works to get athletes back to their highest performance level as quickly and safely as possible.
